Asian and Pacific indices mostly record a session of growth. The most significant gains are observed in the CHN.cash index (+1.13%) and HK.cash (+1.30%). The index in Singapore SG20cash (+1.05%), in Vietnam VIET30 (+0.65%), and in Japan JAP225 (+0.45%) also gain.

  • Asian and Pacific indices mostly record a session of growth. The most significant gains are observed in the CHN.cash index (+1.13%) and HK.cash (+1.30%). The index in Singapore SG20cash (+1.05%), in Vietnam VIET30 (+0.65%), and in Japan JAP225 (+0.45%) also gain.
  • Futures contracts for European indices also indicate a slightly higher opening for the cash session on the Old Continent. Contracts for indices from Germany and the UK are gaining between 0.30%-0.40%.
  • In the forex market in the first part of the day, movements are limited, with most changes for the major currency pairs ranging within +/-0.10%. The exceptions are the Australian dollar (AUD) and the New Zealand dollar (NZD), which gain about 0.4-0.6%.
  • The People’s Bank of China (PBoC) announced on Monday that it will maintain its annual prime rate (LPR) at an unchanged level of 3.45%. Additionally, the bank’s five-year basic interest rate remained at 3.95%, in line with the previous decision. This move is in line with the expectations of most economists.
  • On Sunday, the head of the French central bank, Francois Villeroy de Galhau, stated that it is unlikely that tensions in the Middle East would lead to an increase in energy prices and should not affect the European Central Bank’s plans to start cutting interest rates in June.
  • According to the latest reports, Friday’s attack by Israel on Iran was intended to be much more intense, but after heavy pressure from allies, Israeli leaders agreed to minimize it. According to three senior Israeli officials, Israel abandoned plans for a much broader counterattack on Iran after joint diplomatic pressures from the United States and other foreign allies.
  • The Bitcoin halving took place from Friday night to Saturday. Just after the event, no major changes in prices were observed in the market. Volatility in the cryptocurrency market was also limited, partly due to the weekend timing.
  • However, since then, Bitcoin has been gaining slightly and steadily from around $64,000 to nearly $66,000 currently. Today, BTC is recording close to a 2.0% increase.
  • The Altcoin market deserves attention, as these coins have clearly performed better during the same period. The total capitalization of smaller projects grew from $630 billion to $675 billion, which is an increase of over 7.00%.
